LONDRES, Inglaterra:- El equipo de béisbol de dominicanos radicados en esta capital británica London Latinboy, pasaron este domingo a la semifinal del campeonato de esa disciplina tras vencer en un apretado partido 4 carreras por 3. El torneo se inició el 2 de agosto.
Los criollos perdían 3 carreras por cero en el quinto ining frente a los ingleses, pero dos jonrones seguidos los acercó en el marcador. Ya en la sexta entrada agregaron otro para empatar las acciones a 3 carreras por bandos.
El equipo London Mammoths, amenazó con dos corredores en la apertura del séptimo, pero el lanzador criollo, Adonis Galvés Rodríguez, ponchó a los tres bateadores acabando así con la agonía de los dominicanos. La combinación perfecta de los lanzadores Galvés y Jorge Luis González, fue otra de las piezas claves para alcanzar la victoria quisqueyana en el viejo continente.
El cierre del séptimo ining y con dos outs, un dramático cuadrangular de Fermín Moreta, su segundo del partido, le dio el triunfo a los quisqueyanos 4 carreras por 3.
Con este triunfo, el equipo dominicano, bajo la dirección de Pepe Anderson, presidente del club criollo y Elvis de la Cruz, maneger pasa a la semifinal del torneo amateur de béisbol, que se jugará el 18 de este mes en Londres.
Los dominicanos que pusieron la bola tras la verja se destacaron con jonrones, Fermín Moreta (2), Alberto Cruz y Aneudis Calzado, despacharon un cuadrangular cada uno.
